Apparently, READIO(Gpib,1) cannot read the register when working with NI driver. (Gpib=7 is set earlier in the program)
How can I test for presence of GPIB Interface Card in the computer? Apparently this command no longer works.

    Hi,
If you can’t do the job with HTbasic, you can use another tool.
    Go to: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/device_manager_view.html

You can use this utility with HTBasic like this:

    Prog$=”DevManView.exe”
    File$=”MyFile”
    Command$=”cmd /C start /MIN “&Prog$
    Command$=Command$&”/scomma”&” “””&File$&””””
    EXECUTE CHR$(13)&Command$

All that remains is to read the created file and to look in the different lines for interesting characters.
    For example, “PCI-GPIB”
